Easy Screen Recorder is an application with a pretty self-explanatory title - it allows you to record the activity of your monitor in a video file.

The interface of the program is plain and simple. You can get started by selecting the type of area that you want to record, between full screen, window, region or fixed region.

Plus, you can configure fixed region settings by inputting the values for the left and top margins, as well as width and height.

Once you initiate the recording process, you can give the new caption a name and modify text effect preferences when it comes to the style (e.g. normal, shadow, outline), position and font.

Furthermore, you can add an annotation (system stamp or caption), record sound (e.g. left click, right click, keyboard), include the mouse cursor (e.g. highlight left click) and enable autopan.

On top of that, you can configure options when it comes to the program (e.g. minimize window before recording, play movie after saving), video (e.g. compressor, frame rate), audio (e.g. capture device, recording format), file (e.g. output location, auto-generation file name) and keyboard shortcuts (e.g. record, pause, stop, auto pan). Settings can be restored to their default values.

The application runs on a low amount of system resources and includes a well-written help file (however, it doesn't include snapshots). On the other hand, the computer's response time is extremely poor when Easy Screen Recorder is recording something. We almost had to forcibly reboot the computer during our tests. In this case, we strongly suggest you look for a more powerful tool.
