EasyToon is a lightweight application designed to help you create small GIF animations in just a few simple steps. You can use them for avatars on websites, for example.

The interface of the program is plain and uncomplicated. Importing a GIF file can be done by using either the file browser or 'drag and drop' method. But you can also add an EZT file to the project, along with Bitmap pictures.

So, you can use some standard graphic editing tools, such as rectangular selection, pencil, line, parallel lines, fill, ellipse, text, pen and eraser.

But you can also adjust the toning level, free scale the current position, mirror the picture horizontally or vertically, apply a negative effect, swap colors, zoom in and out, and use masks. In addition, you can preview the animation within the frame, as well as establish the default frame time exposure.

The application runs on a very low amount of CPU and system memory, has a good response time and supports keyboard shortcuts. We have not come across any issues during our evaluation; EasyToon did not freeze, crash or pop up error dialogs. However, its interface needs a complete makeover in the visual department. No recent updates have been made.

Taking everything into consideration, we can state that EasyToon is not only a fun way to pass the time, but also a cool way to express your creativity. You can create drawings from scratch or rely on existing pictures, making this application worth your while overall.
