Xilisoft CD Ripper is a program with a pretty suggestive title - it allows you to rip music from your CDs and convert it to multiple formats, including MP3, FLAC, WAV and WMA.

The interface of the application is clean and intuitive. Audio files can be imported into the list by using either the file browser or "drag and drop" method. Batch processing is allowed.

In the queue you can check out the name, source format, duration, output profile and size, as well as status of each track.

Once you establish the destination directory and output extension, you can proceed with the encoding process.

In addition, you can preview tracks in a built-in audio player, change audio settings (e.g. codec, sampling rate, channels, volume, encode mode) and edit metadata (e.g. title, author, comment, album).

But you can also retrieve CDDB information, trim songs by marking their start and end time, apply effects (e.g. fade, normalize, chorus, flanger, echo), check out a log window and create a new output profile.

Furthermore, you can set post-task actions (e.g. exit program, turn off computer), enable Xilisoft CD Ripper to run in the background in low priority and to automatically check for updates online, change the interface skin and language, customize the CPU core number, and others.

The audio conversion program runs on a pretty high amount of system resources, includes a brief help file for novices, quickly finishes a task and manages to keep a very good sound quality. We haven't come across any errors during our tests. Too bad the unregistered version has some harsh limitations. Otherwise, we strongly recommend Xilisoft CD Ripper to all users.
